Communication and organisation -
- There are many emails, phone calls and video calls to create wedding flowers that align with your vision as well as finalising all of the finer details and the creation of invoices, quotes and style guides.
- Time is spent creating spreadsheets and lists to co-ordinate the amount of flowers and foliage needed for each of your designs and orders are then sent off to our growers and wholesalers.
- Ordering vases, candles, petal cones...the list is endless from our suppliers as well as co-ordinating staff, liasing with other suppliers and your venue in the lead up to your day and creating run sheets for your day to ensure we allow enough time for every aspect of your florals to be created before your guests arrival.
Flower preparation and creation -
- The week of your wedding we are up before the sparrows at 4am to travel to the market up to 3 times depending on the ingredients we are including in your day.
- We bring the flowers and products back to the studio and strip and cut every stem before we pop them into water for a drink to hydrate them.
- If your designs includes reflexed roses we spin each rose, blow in it and turn back EVERY.SINGLE.PETAL. Crazy, isn't it and time consuming!
- On our average weddings, we spend two days creating your bouquets, table centres. Anything that can possibly be made prior to the event.
- All of our silk ribbons for your bouquets and buttonholes are naturally hand dyed in our studio to suit your colour palate.
- Once the wedding flowers have been created we carefully pack them all for transport as well as getting our tool box ready, cleaning and paint touch ups of our arbour and prepping for any elements that are made onsite.
On your wedding day -
We then pop arrangements on the bridal table, guest tables as well as any other elements we are using to transform the space and cleaning up after ourselves again.
Next, it's time to head back to the ceremony and once you have had all of your photo's with your family after your intimate ceremony we will pack down the arbour and all of the ceremony florals. Where possible the ceremony florals can be re-purposed in the reception area where we then head back to before heading back to the studio.
In most cases we are back at your venue at midnight packing down all of the vases and statement peices.
- All of the buttonholes, corsages, petal cones are made on the morning of your wedding.
- The wagon is then packed and we set off to deliver the flowers to the bride, then the groom before we head to the ceremony to begin our set up.
- Buckets of flowers, ladders, arbours, toolkits are all carried to the ceremony site.
- All of the ceremony elements are created and we then need to clean up all of the stems and leaves that have been captured on our drop sheets.
- Next, we head back to the studio for your reception florals and repack the wagon and off to the reception venue to carry all of the floral elements up stairwells, lifts, through the kitchen to your reception space.
- The amount of staff we need for your day will vary depending on the size of your wedding and the bump in times permitted by the ceremony location and reception venue. There are some amazing local venues who give us all day to set up while other venues only allow an hour and a half after their lunch service is finished,

Post wedding -
- We then have a studio to clean.
- There are leaves and stems petals all over the floor that need sweeping
- Buckets to bleach.
- Vases to clean.
- Wax from candles to get out of their vessels.
- Green waste to dispose of and more cleaning, so much cleaning.
- Trips to bunning's and suppliers to re-stock the tool kit.
The above is a snapshot of what's included behind the scenes to create your flowers which is then factored into what's included in your wedding flower costs, our average weddings take from 30-45 hours of work to execute them as you can see from above. When you receive a costing from us there will be a costing for the floral arrangement portion as well as a separate cost which covers the set-up and delivery on your wedding day.
