Captain Henry Waterhouse Reserve Wedding Ceremony

Captain Henry Waterhouse Reserve Wedding Ceremony

Pierra and Jake married at Captain Henry Waterhouse Reserve, Kirribilli in an intimate Harbourside wedding ceremony with their closest family and friends.

The reserve is in such a stunning setting by Sydney Harbour with the city skyline, Opera House and Harbour Bridge in the background.

You wouldn't know if from the images but it was the windiest afternoon we have ever experienced setting up a wedding and wind is not a florists best friend. Into our tool kit for sandbags and rope to secure the arbour and the flowers held beautifully.

Stunning  quicksand roses in blush and playa blanca roses in ivory tones with the addition of a gorgeous orchid in Pierra's bouquet were used to create the arrangements.

Peirra and Jake's dog was a cute little ring bearer and the wind blew the veil from Pierra's hair and it was somehow caught as it blew past by one of the guests. There will be plenty of stories from this windy wedding ceremony they can retell for years to come.

After wandering from Captain Henry Waterhouse reserve, Kirribilli along the harbourside to Luna Park. Pierra and Jake then made their way to The Waterfront Function Centre for a celebration with all of their friends and family.

When planning a ceremony at Captain Henry Waterhouse, Kirribilli be sure to be flexible with your ceremony location. There are often multiple weddings in the area at the same time and we often arrive to ceremonies already set up in the area.

Garden Wedding Sydney

Jake and Rebecca said their I-do's in a beautiful garden wedding in Sydney's Nurragingy reserve. The Jannawi wedding garden is perfectly placed next to a stunning pond with ducks floating around and the breeze blowing through the low trees.

Their day was originally meant to go ahead at the Nesuto Leura Gardens Hotel in the Blue Mountains but unfortunately due to the Sydney lockdowns the hotel was closed a few weeks before Jake and Rebecca's wedding day.

They then settled on the Nurragingy reserve and then La Nina popped her head up. The week before the wedding was spent with Rebecca organising a gazebo as a wet weather back up as the forecast looked like heavy rain. Luckily there was no need for the gazebo, we woke up on the day of the wedding to beautiful blue skies and they were able to have the garden wedding they had been dreaming of.

Our copper arch was set up with draping ivory silk and a garden wedding garland to recreate a similar backdrop to what they would have had on a beautiful old tree in the Blue Mountains.

Rebecca's bouquet was cascading with dark foliage's combined with premium seasonal blooms in soft tones of pinks, purples and whites.

Rebecca and Jakes ceremony was created in conjunction with the Pop up Elopements team who we love working with. We all communicate with each other behind the scenes to ensure your planning and your day are as easy and beautiful as possible.

Flower Crown Workshop Sydney

For Laura's flower crown workshop we headed to leafy Gymea. We had so much fun helping these ladies create their bright and colourful crowns.

For our flower crown workshops we allow you to choose your tones and the mix of hot pink, soft pinks and whites matched perfectly to the bride to be in fuscia pink and her tribe in white.

Included in the flower crown workshops are the wire base to create your crowns on, scissors, tape and a large range of seasonal flowers. Generally the worshops run from 1 /12 - 2 hours depending on the group. Laura's ladies were very speedy and had their wonderful crowns whipped up in no time.

We help every step of the way so that everyone has a crown to wear into the night.

Audley Dance Hall Wedding

Audley Dance Hall Wedding

Holly and Liam married at Reid Flats for an Audley Dance Hall Wedding celebration.

Holly and her maids spent the morning getting ready at Reid's Cottage, such a gorgeous space overlooking the river. The path to the cottage was covered in gum leaves that last weeks wedding party had punched hearts in to make natural confetti, such a lovely sight to arrive to!

The cottage is perfectly positioned allowing Holly and her maids to walk from the cottage down a few steps to the ceremony by the river.

We created abundant florals in tones of blush, soft pinks, apricots, whites and burgandy.

After the ceremony by the river at Reid flats, just as the rain was starting to fall the celebration moved on to the Dance Hall for a long lunch,

An Audley Dance Hall wedding is always one of our favourites to create, so many ceremony options, the dance hall is a blank canvas and the staff there go above and beyond. There is also the added bonus of having backup options to fall back on if there is rain forecast for your day.

Darook Park Wedding, Cronulla

Darook Park Wedding - Cronulla

It was a beautiful Spring day for Lisa and Peter’s Darook Park wedding, the sun was shining with a soft breeze blowing.

Setting up wedding flowers in this spot is one of my favourites. The stunning view across the bay never disappoints, today there were kookaburras laughing in the tress and pelicans floating out at sea all combining to create such a magical, relaxing setting.

Premium seasonal flowers with the additional of a phalenopsis orchid (Lisa’s favourite) in tones of blush, white, soft pink and burgundy were mixed with textural elements to create a bohemian style wedding bouquet which tied in with Lisa’s stunning wedding gown and the tones in her daughters flower girl dress.

Our new Copper wedding arbour was shining in the sun for this Darook Park wedding to which we added lush florals to tie in with the bouquet and was full of movement and texture, placed in front was one of Lisa’s favourite rugs from their home was placed in front of the arbour for them to stand on.

With restrictions still in place the ceremony was live streamed to those who couldn’t attend in person. A circle of love was created by sprinkling rose petals in tones of peach, yellow, orange, white, red and blush to represent each daughter who was unable to be there today.

The arch was left in place after the ceremony for the florals to be enjoyed with post ceremony drinks and a first wedding dance before Lisa and Peter took the florals with them for a relaxed wedding dinner at Queen Margheritas, Cronulla.

Congratulations Lisa and Peter it was a joy creating florals for you xx

Audley Dance Hall Wedding - Top Ceremony locations

If you’re looking for wedding location that feels like a destination wedding without leaving Sydney, Audley Dance Hall tick’s all the boxes. As soon as you enter the Royal National Park you will you travel down the winding bends that take you down to the river. After slowing down to take in the vista as you cross the narrow weir you will round another bend and come across Audley Dance Hall. It’s such a lovely venue with such a caring team with the added bonus of a café underneath stocked with lots of tasty treats. You will feel like you have stepped back in time with the bonus that some areas of Audley don’t have wi-fi or phone connection which allows you to truly enjoy your time here.

With around 10 ceremony options for your Audley Dance Hall wedding it was so hard for us to narrow it down to our top 5. Our tip is to make a day of it and explore all that each location has to offer. Grab a coffee or lunch from the Dance Hall and take time to sit in each spot and take in all of the natural serenity. You will find 'your spot' in no time.

Wattle Forest

Wattle Forest is our most favourite ceremony location for an Audley Dance Hall Wedding. Tall ancient cliffs with the creek flowing underneath create such a breathtaking backdrop. The gully intensifies the songs of all of the native bird’s so much that you can pick out each individual tune as they fly between the trees. There is such a serenity that creates such a magical setting for your wedding ceremony. No to mention the dappled golden light that your photographer will love as you have your photo’s by the river while your guests relax with a glass of wine in hand.

Currawong Flat
A short walk from the Dance Hall, your guests will love walking over the rustic wooden bridge that will frame all of your ceremony shots. While not as private as some of your other options, the combination of the babbling river and bridge will make you fall in love with this spot which will create a stunning setting for you to say your I-do’s.

Audley Dance Hall Deck
What we love about Audley Dance Hall is that they have the perfect wet weather back up option on their deck. It takes all of the stress out of a rainy week in the lead up to your wedding, where it may be raining on your day or soggy underfoot by the river. Large enough to have chairs set up and standing room behind into the dancehall it's the prefect elevated spot overlooking the river for your ceremony.

Wedding Flower Budgeting

3/8/2021

One of the most common queries we receive is for information on packages and pricing. With that in mind we thought it might be helpful to put together a summary of what floral elements can be included for different budgets and why we don't create wedding flower packages.

When planning your wedding flowers, it’s important to know that there’s flexibility when it comes to both budgeting and the various elements you include in your day.

  1. Decide how important flowers are to you as a couple for your wedding day – do you feel the flowers and styling will set the tone for your day or do you fall into the ‘I’m not a flower person’ category.
  2. Consider your venue – does it need an abundance of additional florals and styling or is it a gorgeous space where only accents of florals are needed?
Picture

While there’s no hard and fast rule, we suggest
your floral budget accounts for 10-15% of your
overall wedding budget. If you have an
overflowing pinterest board of floral dream’s
we would suggest allocating 20-25% of
your total wedding budget.

Picture
We want to get to know our couples, take into account your venue and personal style, which is why we don’t offer set packages. We want to ensure that your wedding florals compliment the elements of your special day.

The following budget guides include what we find are wedding day floral staples. Once you decide on your budget and floral must have’s we can then guide you as to how to make the best use of your budget.

Under $1000
  • Perfect price point for small intimate weddings, an elopement or where your venue includes décor

  • Often, this will include a bridal bouquet, a few bridesmaid bouquets as well as buttonholes for the groom and groomsmen and buttonholes and corsages for your closest family members

  • For a more intimate wedding with no bridal party it could also include a small feature installation at the ceremony or reception

Picture
$1500 – $3000
  • Bridal party flowers

  • Small table arrangements for the guest tables and bridal table at the reception Or hire of an arbour with a floral installation at the ceremony (upper end of the range would include both)

Picture
 $3500 – $5000
  • Bridal party flowers, a feature ceremony element and standard size table arrangements for the reception

  • At the upper end of this budget you could also include additional floral elements for the ceremony and reception to enhance your space

Picture
$5,500 – $7,500

  • This price range falls within our typical full service wedding – most often this includes bridal party flowers, a large scale ceremony floral feature, an installation at the reception, as well as large arrangements of flowers and candles for the tables.

  • At the higher end of the budget it also includes additional ceremony elements such as flowers for the signing table, signage, aisle, petal toss and additional reception elements to compliment your venue

Picture
$7,500 – $10,000
  • With this budget, we are often looking at a collection of personal flowers, large statement / impact pieces at the ceremony that will wow your nearest and dearest. For the reception, the budget could allow for a hanging feature as well as large arrangements of flowers and candles for the tables and other areas of the venue.

A few other things to consider:
  • By sharing your flower budget with us we can take your floral must haves for your day and guide you as to how to get maximum flower impact for your day.  It can sometimes be as simple as adjusting the size of your arrangements, the volume of flowers in each design or the flower types we use.

  • Expect higher costs due to Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day due to increases in flowers costs from our growers

  • COVID-19 and the floods have added 20-50% to the cost of flowers and flower budgets are not stretching as far as they used to.

  • If you have your heart set on varieties that are premium blooms or out of season and imported for your date be prepared for them eat into your flower budget too.

  • Each budget range allows for delivery and labour charges on the day for weddings local to us. We have an amazing team who work extremely hard to create magical blooms for your wedding day and there is so much work that goes on behind the scenes to create your wedding day florals.

  • Labour fees also start increasing the further away the venue is, and can vary dramatically depending on the venue. Each venue has it’s own rules for timings on when we can set up and when we need to pack down. All of this has an impact on costs for the day.

  • Every florist prices differently and it might be that florists in your area charge more or less for some items than we do. We’re hoping this information can act as a guide to help your planning and isn’t a formal quote.

We are always excited to work with couples regardless of their budget. We don’t have a minimum spend requirement and are always happy to provide suggestions on where your money is best spent, and how to get the best value from your flowers to make the greatest impact on the day.
